Xerography, also known as electrophotography, is a printing and photocopying technique that works on the basis of electrostatic charges. The xerography process is the dominant method of reproducing images and printing computer data and is used in photocopiers, laser printer s and fax machines. The term derives from the Greek words xeroxs , meaning dry andgraphos , meaning writing. Xerography was invented in the late 1930s by an American patent lawyer named Chester Carlson.
Brief information about Xylophone - (Source)
The xylophone (from the Greek words ξύλον—xylon, "wood" + φωνή—phōnē, "sound, voice", meaning "wooden sound") is a musical instrument in the percussion family that consists of wooden bars struck by mallets. Each bar is an idiophone tuned to a pitch of a musical scale, whether pentatonic or heptatonic in the case of many African and Asian instruments, diatonic in many western children's instruments, or chromatic for orchestral use...The modern western xylophone has bars of rosewood, paduk, or various synthetic materials such as fiberglass or fiberglass-reinforced plastic which allows a louder sound.

ReplyDeleteII used to play the Xylophone as a child but was encouraged to give it up by my parents, they couldn't stand the 'plinckity plonks' every day 24/7 so, they encouraged me to play the piano
ReplyDelete.Big mistake.... the noise I made on the piano was ten times worse than the Xylophone...
In the end I took up singing and joined the local church choir which took up a lot of my time out of the house...
.Smart move by the parents!
Interesting read thanks x
