Akshay Tritiya was the day when I entered in the blogging world, so 'as per Tithi' today I have completed one year in this beautiful blogging world.
The word "Akshaya" means the never diminishing in Sanskrit and the day is believed to bring good luck and success. It is believed that if you do charity on this day you will be blessed. It is an auspicious day of the birthday of Lord Parasurama who is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. On this day Veda Vyas and Lord Ganesha began to write Mahabharata. The meaning of the word Akshaya is infinite that which never recede. (Link to information).

Nowadays jewellers have turned the purity into a marketing gimmick. The day is considered auspicious for starting new ventures. The legend is that any venture initiated on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya continues to grow and bring prosperity. Hence, new ventures, like starting a business, construction, etc. is performed on Akshaya Tritiya. According to me significance of this festival is in giving or donating or helping others. It is said the more you give, the more you get.
Happy birthday to your blog.
ReplyDeleteThe earring is awesome ..from where did you buy it ??? i want one ..really really want.. :-(
Thank you very much Maniparna :)
DeleteI bought this earrings instantly when I spotted them in my street shopping visits at Borivali fashion street, Borivali,Mumbai. I purchased them at Rs.70.
I searched on google to just know their online price. To my surprise I found exactly same earrings available in online shopping for Rs 1200 on one website and Rs.690 on another website. I was amazed by their (obline sellers) profit margin.
Thanks...will look out for them at Borivali FS :-)
